Ricardo Scarello, 44, went straight to work after high school, but lost his job after his eyesight became impaired. He was later diagnosed with a recessive genetic disorder and his vision continued to steadily decline. He has very little vision now. Despite his obstacles, Ricardo pursued higher education online to advance his career in IT. In 2019, he graduated from SNHU alongside his service dog, Puck, earning his MS in Information Technology with a 4.0 GPA. He now works as a senior software developer.
