Shaquita Callier, 31, a first-generation college graduate, has been a Marine spouse for 10 years. As the primary caretaker of their four children and with the constant wonder of when and where her family may be off to next, prioritizing her own goals and earning her degree seemed out of reach – until she found an online, military-friendly university where she could earn her degree at her own pace. She enrolled in SNHU’s psychology program with a concentration in child and adolescent development, with the goal of becoming a clinical psychologist. While supporting her husband’s transition to civilian life after medical discharge, caring for her son with special needs, and balancing her everyday responsibilities, Shaquita persisted and graduated in 2022.
