After graduating from high school, Joseph Kulakowski joined the Vermont National Guard. At the time, he had no intention of pursuing higher learning. After losing a job opportunity to someone with a higher credential and watching his two siblings complete their programs, he was inspired to pursue his own degree. While continuing to serve in the National Guard, raising his son, and balancing a full-time civilian job helping families access community support, he decided to enroll in SNHU’s online human services program. Joseph graduated in 2022 alongside his wife Tia. With his education, he hopes to pursue a career as a mental health counselor.
