Check out a recent report from Inside Higher Ed, Modernizing Postsecondary Policy to Better Support Adult Learners, by Kristi DePaul and featuring CHEPP’s Executive Director Jamie Fasteau. With 40 million learners with some credit and no degree or credential, this report surfaces a number of ways that higher education systems must change in order to meet the needs of today’s learners – including streamlining credit transfer, expanding credit for prior learning opportunities, increasing connections to the workforce, and supporting students’ basic needs. The report also highlights how federal financial aid policies, like Satisfactory Academic Progress, should be updated to serve learners seeking higher education today and how more employers should help support their employees’ educational attainment.
At CHEPP, we’re working with likeminded partners to advocate for these policies, and more. To partner with us, email [email protected].
