Sen. Maggie Hassan cites CHEPP research about transfer credit loss in higher ed during the Senate HELP Committee’s State of Higher Education hearings.
Senator Maggie Hassan (D-NH) spoke at the Senate Health, Education, Labor, & Pensions Committee, citing research from CHEPP about transfer credit loss in higher ed.
During the hearing, Sen. Hassan noted that students who transfer to a public 4-year institution lose, on average, half of their credits – along with thousands of dollars invested towards their education. The broken transfer credit system creates unnecessary financial and academic barriers for learners, but we know how to fix it. By aligning higher education institutions with federal policymakers, we can ease the transfer process for learners – saving them money and better supporting them on the path towards graduation and economic prosperity.
