CHEPP joined 16 organizations in calling for Congress fully fund the Pell Grant Shortfall, create a permanent Emergency Aid Grant program, support the Fund for the Improvement of Postsecondary Education (FIPSE), increase funding for the Child Care Access Means Parents in School (CCAMPIS) program, and increase the Garrett Lee Smith (GLS) Memorial Act Campus Suicide Prevention Grant.

Public Comment Letter Regarding the Proposed Rule on Accountability in Higher Education and Access through Demand (AHEAD): Student Tuition and Transparency System (STATS) and Earnings Accountability

Southern New Hampshire University (SNHU) submitted the following public comments to the U.S. Department of Education’s proposed rule on Accountability in Higher Education and Access through Demand (AHEAD): Student Tuition and Transparency System (STATS) and Earnings Accountability. The letter shares SNHU’s overall support for the accountability framework while urging the Department to consider adjusting the initial implementation timeline to give institutions and the Department a year to work through any data quality and sharing issues before using the new data for accountability purposes.

Sign-on Letter to Congressional Appropriations Committee Leadership Supporting Funding for the Basic Needs Grant in Fiscal Year 2027

CHEPP joined more than 90 organizations calling for the House and Senate Appropriations Committees to provide $45 million in funding for the Basic Needs for Postsecondary Students Program, the “Basic Needs Grant”. College students are more likely to stay enrolled and complete their degree when their basic needs, such as housing, food, and transportation, are met.

The Pell Grant program is currently facing a nearly $17 billion shortfall. CHEPP joined more than 65 organizations calling on Congressional leaders to protect the Pell Grant and fund the projected shortfall.
